It’s the second year in a row that Crowned Heads released the small 4 x 50 petite robusto size of its Juárez line; the cigar was originally called Juárez Shots XX in 2020. Like the rest of the line, it is made at Tabacalera Pichardo using a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
This year, it has an MSRP of $5.95 per cigar and is limited to 750 boxes of 50 cigars, an increase from the 500 boxes that the company released in 2020 and 2021.
“Since its debut in 2019, Juárez continues to be a top performer for us,” said Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release. “Shots is always a fun way for us to kick off the year, and the need for more compact smokes during the cold winter months makes for perfect timing as well.”
Júarez, the line, is inspired by Jonny Cash’s performance of “Cocaine Blues.” The various vitola names are all references to parts of the song and the story it tells.
