Standard Ground Shipping
Tobacco Leaf offers standard ground shipping on all orders. Orders are typically delivered within 3-7 business days. Standard shipping is FREE on orders over $100.
Expedited Shipping Options
For faster delivery, Tobacco Leaf offers several expedited shipping options. Available shipping methods and rates will be displayed during checkout, calculated based on:
- Order weight and dimensions
- Delivery destination
- Selected shipping speed
Available options may include:
- 2-Day Air: Delivery within 2 business days
- Next Day Air: Delivery by the next business day
- Saturday Delivery: Available for select locations (additional fees apply)
Shipping Restrictions
Due to state and federal regulations:
- We only ship within the continental United States
- We cannot ship to certain locations due to local restrictions
- All orders must be signed for by an adult 21 years or older with valid identification
- We do not ship to APO/FPO addresses
Delivery Information
- Orders are processed Monday through Friday
- Delivery times are estimated in business days
- Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays
- Tracking information will be emailed once your order ships
- Adult signature (21+) is required for all deliveries
Weather Delays
During periods of extreme heat or cold, we may temporarily hold shipments to certain areas to protect your cigars. We'll notify you if your order is affected by weather holds.
Holiday Shipping
Special holiday shipping schedules and cutoff times may apply during major holidays. Please check our homepage or contact customer service for current holiday shipping information.
State Excise Taxes
All tobacco products are subject to state and local taxes. These taxes vary by location and are calculated based on your shipping address at checkout. Tobacco Leaf is required by law to collect and remit all applicable state and local taxes.

State-Specific Excise Tax Information
Colorado
Effective July 1, 2024, Colorado imposes a 56% excise tax on all tobacco products, based on the manufacturer's list price. This rate will increase gradually through 2027, reaching 62%.
Indiana
Effective July 1, 2023, cigars and pipe tobacco are taxed at 24% of the wholesale purchase price.
Maine
Effective January 1, 2024, Maine imposes a 43% excise tax on all tobacco products, based on the cost price.
Maryland
Effective October 1, 2019, Maryland imposes the following excise taxes:
- Premium cigars: 15% of wholesale price
- Pipe tobacco: 30% of wholesale price
Michigan
Effective January 1, 2022, cigars are taxed at 32% of the wholesale price, with a maximum tax of $0.50 per cigar.
North Carolina
Effective July 1, 2022:
- Cigars: 12.80% of wholesale price (maximum $0.30 per cigar)
- Pipe Tobacco: 12.80% of wholesale price
Ohio
Effective October 16, 2019:
- Premium cigars and pipe tobacco: 17% of wholesale price (maximum $0.64 per premium cigar)
- Little cigars with filter/tip: 37% of wholesale price
Pennsylvania
- Small cigars (weighing 4lb per 1000 or less): $0.13 per cigar
- Loose/pipe tobacco: $0.55 per ounce (minimum $0.66 per package)
South Dakota
Effective January 1, 2022, cigars are taxed at 32% of the wholesale price.
Virginia
Effective July 1, 2022:
- Cigars: 20% of wholesale price
- Pipe tobacco: 10% of wholesale price
Wisconsin
Effective January 1, 2025, cigars and pipe tobacco will be taxed at 71% of the actual cost to the distributor (maximum $0.50 per cigar).
Refund Policy
Return Eligibility
We do not accept returns, which means if you have received a damaged item you have 5 days after receiving your item to request a new item at no cost to you.
To be eligible for a replacement, you must take pictures of your item showcasing the damage, this must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your exchange is accepted, we'll send you a replacement item with a new tracking number.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, or damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like:
- Perishable goods (such as food, flowers, cigars, or plants)
- Custom products (such as special orders or personalized items)
- Personal care goods (such as beauty products)
- Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
